Reference Architecture
This material highlights a representative collaboration between our company and SkyUnity Systems.
Within the context of the Reference Architecture, SkyUnity Systems is a hypothetical entity functioning as a Digital OEM and Systems Solutions Integrator. SkyUnity's primary market value lies in its Aero-Factory, which serves as an "operating system" for the aviation sector.
SkyUnity does not operate as a traditional software / hardware vendor; instead, it acts as a Prime Integrator. In this scenario, the end-client (a hypothetical airport operator) has independently selected three specific hypothetical vendors for their best-in-class performance but has tasked SkyUnity with the full integration of these components into a single, intelligent solution.
Exemplary Integration Project
DR Consulting will lead the architectural design and implementation of the following three integrated products, ensuring they function as a single, unified ecosystem:
1. Real-Time Digital Twin of a Fuel Management System (FMS)
- The Product: AeroCore Dynamics will supply the Fuel Management System (FMS) and the underluying hardware / machinery.
- The Integration: SkyUnity will host the Digital Twin platform. DR Consulting will design the data pipelines that replicate the FMS’s physical state in both SkyUnity's MES and this virtual environment in real-time.
- Role of DR Consulting: We will participate in the implementation of the Digital Twin platform, ensuring that high-frequency sensor data from FMS and its machinery is perfectly mapped to SkyUnity’s virtual models (both production and twinned) for real-time performance monitoring.
2. Integrated Enterprise Monitoring System (EMS)
- The Product: CompositeFlow Solutions will provide a high-performance Monitoring System software.
- The Integration: SkyUnity will "feed" this system with live data from its own MES system, which captures thousands of data points from end-users' aviation sensors.
- Role of DR Consulting: We will integrate CompositeFlow’s standalone system into SkyUnity’s overarching monitoring infrastructure. This will create a "single pane of glass" for the end-user, offering a complete picture of all portfolio products and processes.
3. M2M-Enabled "De-Icing"
- The Product: GroundLogic will supply the Autonomous De-icing System.
- The Integration: To operate efficiently, the robot requires real-time flight data (estimated time of arrival, surface temperature, and aircraft model). It will receive this through a Data Broker provided by SkyUnity.
- Role of DR Consulting: We will facilitate the M2M (Machine-to-Machine) integration and build the communication bridge between the aircraft’s onboard systems (via a SkyUnity API) and the de-icing robots, ensuring the ground system (De-Icing System) is pre-configured for the specific aircraft before it even reaches the gate.
DR Consulting will act as the master orchestrator, ensuring that SkyUnity’s assets and the vendors' specialized products merge into an Industry 4.0 offering.
